About Utila

Utila is the smallest of three tropical islands called the Bay Islands and is found 18 miles off the coast of Honduras. It is surrounded by the blue crystal clear waters of the Caribbean sea. It can be reached by plane or ferry from La Ceiba on the mainland coast. Hotel accommodation on the island starts from $6 per room per night or if you want something for a slightly longer stay you can get a small apartment with your own kitchen facilities for around $300 per month. Your IDC is conducted at our private beach front resort away from the noise of town.

Deep Blue Resort is set in its own secluded grounds surrounded by palm trees and indigenous wildlife. It is positioned right on the beach with a lagoon at the back filled with Tarpon. Your IDC classroom has its own balcony overlooking the beach and sea with direct access to wonderful shore diving for your in water sessions.
